Conceived of by dancers, for dancers, The Savoy Swingdicate
is the official house band of the Savoy Hop Cats! Founded by the Savoy Hop Cats, Nathaniel & Elizabeth Smalley and renowned Tempe based saxophonist and clarinetist Jeremy Lappitt (performer during the Summer of 2010 Disneyland Resort Friday Night Swing Band Series at Carnation Plaza Gardens), The Savoy Swingdicate draws from a range of influences and brings their own fiery energy to the stage as they play all of the greats from Count Basie and Cab Calloway to Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman, as well as repertoire from the swing revival years. Featuring the beautiful and talented Miss Holly Pyle as lead vocalist The Savoy Swingdicate boasts vocal talent reminiscent of the greats like Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday.
In organizing the musicians for this exceptional swing band, Jeremy Lappitt has utilized his vast connections within the Phoenix jazz scene to assemble the very finest talent. The Savoy Swingdicate has successfully tapped into everything required for not only an amazing swing band – but an amazing swing band for swing dancers! You will want to dance every song during each of their performances!
